Malcolm Woodliff Jones

Battle Creek - December 27, 1928 - June 10, 2018.

Malcolm was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Marvin and Martha (Brownell) Jones. He grew up in Michigan, graduating from High School at Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois. Later he graduated from the University of Michigan in 1949. That year his family moved to Eugene, Oregon where his father became the manager of the Weyerhauser Pulp Mill. Malcolm worked for the Pulp Mill until moving to San Francisco to work for U. S. Steel. In the early 70's he answered the call to the southwest where his mother and sister, Mimi (Haggerty) had made their homes. There he worked with Al Beumer (his mother's husband since father, Marvin, had died in 1959) in the Al-Mart Gift Shop, started by them in Sun City, Arizona. There he made his home.

Malcolm served in the Army during the Korean conflict, and will be honored at his graveside in Battle Creek. He will be greatly missed by his many friends with whom he traveled world wide over the years. His family, sisters Mimi, of Tucson and Sara (Lewis) of Peoria, AZ and their children will remember a caring, humorous, handsome, friendly, smart brother and uncle.

We regret he was not able to experience his last cruise to celebrate his 90th birthday in December. May this voyage be the sweet completion of a good life.
