Battle Creek
Lesa Anne Baird, 54, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013. She was born July 4, 1959 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Gerald W. and Edna M. (Chaney) Hooker. She married Lauren Baird on September 23, 1995 in Battle Creek. Lesa enjoyed making jewelry, playing bingo, cooking, and tending to her flower gardens. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of Bedford Bible Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lauran; children, Nathan Palmer, Amanda Scott, Emilie (Morgan) Barnes, Ashley Baird, Kelli Palmer, Andrew Baird, and Amilia Palmer; siblings, Charlie (Sharon) Hooker, Steve (Janet) Hooker, and Kristie (John) Whitney; and 6 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Thornton.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 PM and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Kevin McCarty officiating. Burial will be at the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford Township, MI.

I first met Lesa when I did her taxes and then I discovered she was a member of my daughter-in-laws family. She was a joy to know and she will be missed. My prayers go out to her family

I graduated with Lesa and just recently reconnected with her at her granddaughters playgroup. I was so glad to get to talk with her and was looking forward to sharing this time with her and with our granddaughters. She will always be remember for her soft voice and big heart. I am so sorry for your loss.

Lesa was such a blessed soul. My heart goes out to her family. I pray for peace and comfort during this horrible time. She was a dear friend of my Mothers and showed much respect for her. God Rest her Soul.
