Edward Joseph Orszula, 74

Edward Joseph Orszula, age 74, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012, at Cox-South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born March 20, 1938, in Berwyn, Illinois, to Gustav and Bernice Orszula. On April 19, 1975, he married Lorene L. Hessenthaler in Lombard, Illinois, and moved to Mountain Home seven years ago from Harvard, Illinois. Mr. Orszula was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church. He earned Bachelors and Masters degrees and taught English literature at McHenry and Lake County Community College, Ozarka College at Ash Flat and taught for one year at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. Mr. Orszula was also a retired insurance agent, realtor and tax accountant. He enjoyed coaching Little League, sports, reading and watching the New York Yankees.

He is survived by his wife: Lorene L. "Lorie" Orszula: of the home; five sons: Mark (Cynthia) Orszula: Bristol, Wisconsin; Kevin Orszula: Burlington, Wisconsin; Timothy (Kerri) Orszula: Lynchburg, Ohio; Eric (Natalie) Danner: Madison, Wisconsin and Christopher (Lori) Danner: Poplar Grove, Illinois; a daughter: Deborah Maurer: Verona, Wisconsin; a sister: Sandi (Harry) Lantvit: Flower Mound, Texas; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Walter Orszula and a sister: Josephine Walder.

Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 4:30-7:30 P.M. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Roller Funeral Home. The Order for the Burial of the Dead will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, at St. Thomas Anglican Church with Rt. Rev. Sam Seamans officiating. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Anglican Church. Visit our online guestbook at
