Jane Stone Obituary

Jane Elizabeth Stone, 80

A Funeral Service for Jane Elizabeth Stone of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with Reverend Marillyn Schultz officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 1:00 pm until service time, at the church.

Jane passed away January 19, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 80. She was born July 17, 1933, in Sandusky, Ohio, the daughter of Harry and Hazel Ryf Bickley. She married Arnold Stone on April 17, 1954, at Sandusky, Ohio, and worked as a home health nurse's aid. Jane was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict era. Jane lived in Mountain Home since moving from LaSalle, Illinois, in 1990. She was a member of the VFW 3246 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post #52 Auxiliary, AARP, Women in Military Service for America Memorial, Women of ELCA, and AAL. Jane was very active in the church and also many cancer organizations, including Peitz Cancer House.

Jane is survived by her four sons, David (Joy) Stone of San Antonio, TX, Richard (Jamie) Stone of Port Charlotte, FL, Allen (Marge) Stone of LaSalle, IL, and Douglas (Sharon) Stone of Menominee Falls, WI; two daughters, Katherine (Joe) Ernst of Oglesby, IL, and Carolyn (Gary) Pyszka of Mountain Home, AR; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and one sister, Hazel "Peg" Weber of Sandusky, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Hadley and Dennis Bickley; two sisters, Linda Fresch, and Faye Owens; and a grandson, James "J.D." Stone.

Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Doug Stone, David Stone, Richard Stone, Allen Stone, Joe Ernst, and Gary Pyszka as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Jane will be truly missed, she was a very active part of our bible study group at Baxter Retirement Village, but we know she is rejoicing in the kingdom today, BOB AND DONNA SLAGLE
