Rita L. Hestley, 76

Mrs. Rita L. Hestley, age 76 of Mountain Home passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 in Mountain Home, AR. The oldest of six children, She was born November 30, 1936 in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of Milton and Eva Weathersbee Payne and Step-father Willie Payne. Rita was a resident of Mountain Home for 33 years.

Rita was a retired telephone operator from Southern Bell and General Telephone and worked as a K-3rd grade substitute teacher from 1980 to 1995, working at Della Ruth and Nelson Wilkes and also Nelson Wilkes Library. She volunteered at Rio Vista Elementary School in St. Petersburg, Florida and was a Brownies Girl Scout and Cadet Leader. Rita was also very active in her church teaching Sunday School, Childrens Church and singing in the choir in St. Petersburg, FL as well as at Mountain Home First Assembly of God and Calvary Temple in Cotter, AR as well as women's ministry leader.

Rita leaves behind a legacy for her family of a deep faith in God and community involvement that her children and grandchildren follow in today.

Rita is survived by a son, James Hestley of Gamaliel, AR and one daughter, Eva Frame of Mountain Home. Two sisters, Donna Konrady of Mountain Home and Susan Boyd and one brother, Lonnie Payne both of West Palm Beach, FL. Six grandchildren: Philip Frame, Jr. of Mountain Home, Michelle, Evan and Heather Hestley, all of Gamaliel, Ar, Adam and Matthew Harris of Cleveland, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hestley, one daughter, Karen Suzanne Harris, her parents, one sister, Patsy Payne and one brother, Jack Payne.

A funeral service , conducted by Reverend Kyle Tardiff will be held 11 AM Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Roller Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Love. Pallbearers will be James and Evan Hestley, Philip Frame, Jr., Matthew Harris and Jon and Noah Stront.
