a blund (Cise') British Lavine, of League City, TX passed away on April 21, 2014 at the age of 45. She was born on October 5, 1968 in Richmond, California to Hermon and Hazel Lavine and was reared by her sister, Diana Mahannah-John and brother-in-law, Dr. Alex John, Jr., from the age of 10.Ablund had three godchildren: Asia, Carrell and Egypt.
Ablund was preceded in death by her parents, Hermon and Hazel Lavine; her maternal grandmother, Rose Pete; her sister, Wanda Mahannah and her uncle Kerry Lavine. She is survived by her brother, John Mahannah and wife Cindy, her sisters, Claudette Castille (Ricky), Diana Mahannah-John and husband Alex, Sandra Dewitt (Tony). Aunts: Renell Taylor and Laura Lavine of Opelousas,LA. Uncles: Herbert Lavine and wife Mary of Opelousas,LA., Ervin Lavine and wife Jane of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Raymond Lavine and wife Wanda, of Houston, Texas.
Ablund held an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from San Jacinto College in Pasadena, TX and was working on a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Houston, Clear Lake, TX.
She worked as the Administrator at the Houston Substance Abuse Clinic, Inc. in Houston, TX., a family owned business.
She was a loving lady, sister, daughter, & friend and will be missed by many.
The Family received friends on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 4-8:00 pm with a Vigil at 7 o'clock at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas 77573.
A Rosary was held Friday, May 2, 2014 from 4-9 pm at Combre Funeral Home, Enterprise Blvd., 1200 Mill St., Lake Charles, LA Telephone: (337) 436-3341.
A Final Viewing continued Saturday Morning at Combre Funeral Home for one hour (8:30-9:30am) prior to 10:00 am Mass at Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic Church, Opelousas St. Lake Charles, LA 70601. Entombment immediately followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Opelousas Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.
