Betty Ruth Harris Ruminer, died September 4, 2017 in League City, Texas. She was born January 15, 1930, the daughter of Tom and Eunice Boley Harris. The oldest of 5 kids, she left home at age 17. She attended Weatherford Jr. College and TCU Harris College of Nursing receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1951. Betty married Kenneth C. Ruminer, on August 20, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas. She moved in 1964 to Houston (Johnson Space Center) area with Kenneth and 3 children, Lynn Ann, Richard Craig, Robert Douglas, and mother-in-law, Murrel H. Ruminer Scholz. They settled in Taylor Lake Village from 1964 to 2016 and then moved to the Crossing Retirement Center in League City November 2016. Betty helped found Taylor Lake Christian Church and worked tirelessly in supporting and working on behalf of the church. She worked with Welcome Wagon, served as Republican Chairwoman for Precinct #90, helped at Seabrook House of Flowers and she and Kenneth traveled extensively over the 50 states and the Panama Canal.
