Beverly Atkinson Booher, 80, died March 20, 2017, surrounded by family and friends in Pearland, Texas.

Born in Houston, Texas, on June 25, 1936, to Smith and Nellie Atkinson, Beverly was a second-generation Houstonian and fifth generation Texan. She grew up in the Park Place area of Houston, graduating from Milby High School in 1954. She then attended Sul Ross State College in Alpine, Texas and the University of Houston.

After Meeting Cletis Booher at a church choir party, the two were married in November 1963. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2013.

Beverly was a charter member of First Presbyterian Church of Pearland and later, an active member of Webster Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Booher is survived by her sister, Ruth Vetter; daughter, Jeannette; and son, Dwight.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Smith and Nellie Atkinson; brother, Gene Atkinson; sister, Donna Lea Atkinson; and husband, Cletis Booher.

A memorial service will be held at Webster Presbyterian Church on April 8 at 1 pm.
