The settlement of the Geneva Conference for World War II gave Bruno's property, in Italy, to communist Yugoslavia. Cittanova, Italy became Novigrad, Yugoslavia. The family's city and country homes, along with the vineyards, olive groves and farmland were confiscated by the communist regime. During Tito's brutal regime, Bruno, Libby and their four year old son, Diego David were finally allowed to leave their home on the Adriatic Sea, with one suitcase. They walked to the new border of Italy and into a refugee camp in Trieste, Italy. They came to the United States and settled in Connecticut. After retiring, Bruno and Libby moved to Texas to be with their son and his family. Libby and Bruno worked hard to send their son to the University of Miami in FL. Bruno and Libby were forever grateful for the education their son received in America.
