Caitlin Louise Duvall-Hammer, 26 years old, of Blanco, Texas, beloved daughter, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly after complications from minor surgery on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Kyle, Texas. She was born in Nassau Bay, Texas to Gerald Hammer and Laura E. Duvall on July 31, 1990.

Caitlin loved to travel and by the time she was 13 she had already been to 10 countries, some multiple times. After graduating from Clear Lake High School in 2008, Caitlin decided to pursue her dream of becoming a chef. At age 19, she went to France for a year and earned her Grand Diplome De Cuisine Et De Patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu in 2011. Back in the States, she realized that being a chef was not going to take her where she wanted to go in life, so she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Texas State University in the summer of 2017, and was recently accepted into the Master's Program for Healthcare Administration also at Texas State University.

She funded her academic studies by working at the Austin Spa, the Leander ISD food program, and then 3 years at Querencia Barton Creek, a retirement community in Austin, which she really enjoyed because she liked being of service to others and was very fond of the residents and staff.

While traveling was her favorite hobby, she was also creative and enjoyed painting and crafts, designing her future home, scheming up her next business idea, loving her dog, and enjoying good food with good friends. What really brought out joy in Caitlin was her family, she lived for the family events and absolutely loved spending time with her many relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Evelyn Hammer and maternal grandparents, Cornelius Howard "Neal" and Josephine (Marx) Duvall.

Caitlin is survived by her mother, Laura Duvall, and step-father, Timothy McBride of Blanco, TX; father, Gerald Hammer of Delray Beach, FL; sisters, Bevin Bearss and husband Joshua of Lago Vista, TX; Andrea Kilpper and husband, John IV and their children, Leah and John V. of Austin, TX; Jennifer Kocken and husband, Bill, and their son, Richard Huston of Canada; and many adoring Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Memorial contributions in Caitlin's name may be made to Blanco UMC Meals on Wheels program, P.O. Box 339, Blanco, TX 78606, or to the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area (HSNBA), 3353 Morningside Drive, New Braunfels, TX 78130.

A Celebration of Caitlin's life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Pennington Funeral Home. Visitation will be held before services at 1:00 P.M.
