Captain Walter Christopher "Chris" Nixon passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 12:32AM in Galveston, TX at the age of 67.

He was born on August 22, 1948 to Walter Cleveland and Margaret Dorothy Nixon.

He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1969-1974 and was a retired fleet captain for Buffalo Marine. He's a lifetime mariner, avid fisherman, gun enthusiast and HAM radio operator.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father and brother Lawrence Nixon.

He is survived by his children Christopher Nixon, Bryan (Sara) Nixon, Megan (Jason) David and Aaron (Nicole) Nixon, sister Pamela Nixon, brother Steven Nixon, 7 grandchildren and numerous loving cousins and extended family.

Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2016 at 5:00pm, Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 E. Main St., League City, TX 77573. Vigil and Rosary at 7:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 23, 2016, St. Mary's Church, 1612 E. Walker St., League City, TX 77573.

Interment following at Fairview Cemetery, North Kansas Ave., League City, TX.
