Charles James Eardley passed away peacefully on July 28, 2013, from throat cancer. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Du Barry Eardley, daughters Carol E. Saxe and Kathleen E. Golini. Son, Stephen preceded him in death. Jim's four granddaughters are Lindy S. Kinnan, Katherine S. Hardaway, Elizabeth Golini and Amelia Golini. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.

Jim was born in Litchfield, England and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. Jim was in the Army Air Corps then attended Carnegie Mellon where he received a BSCE, later he completed a MSCE at SMU. His love of aircraft was well known and he worked for Chance Voight for 7 years in structural design and stress and fatigue analysis of Navy aircraft. He then worked for GE from 1960-1989 on the Apollo Program, Apollo/ Soyouz Docking Adapter, the Viking Spacecraft and Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator for the power source of the Ulysses and the Galileo Deep Space Probes.

Upon retirement, he traveled and did consulting work. He and Jeanne traveled to England and Australia and enjoyed visiting New Zealand. He volunteered with Hal-PC for many years. Jim was a man of many interests and loved his devoted wife and family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday Aug 3, 2013 at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, TX 77598.
