Faye Chaviers Gravett went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 30th 2017, after a brave struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born September 5th, 1936 in Houston, Texas to Virgil and Alice Grissom.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, William P. Gravett, two children, Janet L. Massey, and Robert "Bobby" D. Chaviers, of Houston, Texas and a stepson, Mark W. Gravett of Evans, Georgia, Grandchildren Joseph K. Massey, Monica T. Adams of Houston, Texas, Zachary Massey of Galveston, Texas, step grandson Aaron E. Gravett of Evans, Georgia and great grand children Liam and Faith Massey of Galveston, Texas.

She was a member of Grace Community Church.

Faye had a servant's heart and a giving spirit. She had the gift of seeing the best in a person and nurturing that best side allowing it to grow.

She was soft-spoken and yet outgoing and gracious. She loved to see others enjoy themselves and would do all she could to make certain that shy or hurting people were not overlooked at social events and gatherings.

She had a strength and determination born of her faith in God to carry her through the inevitable problems in life.

She excelled in all of her academic and athletic endeavors in school, her NASA career and her work with the Lockheed Missile and Space Company as well as her volunteer church activities. She was known to go above and beyond whatever was required of her in her assignments.

She loved being with her family and friends, reading, dancing, bicycling, travelling, camping and music, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her love for others was Agape love described in the love chapter of the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13.

Farewell and Godspeed, beautiful one. How we all miss you, but know that you are safe and whole in the arms of your blessed Savior. You will live in our hearts and minds forever, never to be forgotten.

Donations in Faye's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
