Jacqueline (Jackie) West Martin, 95, a long-time resident of Nassau Bay passed peaceful September 26, 2015. As a resident she served on the Nassau Bay Garden club and was the Election Judge for the city. She enjoyed gardening and birding. She worked at the Needle Art shop where she taught off- loom weaving. Later she worked in the law offices of Dalton, Gregg, Meiscook, and Lewis.

Jackie was born in Orange, NJ, March 22, 1920, to the parents of John D. and Hart West. They moved to Massachusetts where she attended Winchester High and St. Mary's in the Mountain in NH. After graduation she took up weaving and silver- smithing and worked on the development of radar. She met her husband William W. Martin at West Point. Upon his graduation they married in 1943.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Camille Stevens, and her brother John D. West.

She is survived by her four children: Camille Strong of Deatsville,AL, Vivian Martin of Friendswood, TX, Will Martin Jr. (Connie) of Denver, CO, and Jacqueline (Lyn) Martin of Deatsville, AL. and her younger brother Bill West of MN; grandchildren, Jennifer Strong, Frank Strong Jr, Melissa Gonda, Hillary Berg, Vanessa Yohe, Vivian Free, and nine great- grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be missed.

Graveside services will be held on Oct 10, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hicksen Funeral home in Leesville, LA.
