Jacquelyn Ann Himel, 79, of Nassau Bay, Texas passed away, comfortable and peaceful, to be with God and his Angels on January 12, 2017. She was cared for by a dedicated and loving team of health care professionals at The Cottages at Clear Lake in League City, Texas. Interment was performed in February at the Houston National Cemetery.

Jackie's life was devoted to teaching in New Orleans, LA, Oxnard, CA, and the Clear Creek Independent School District in Texas. Jackie's finest hours were serving as the Coordinator of the CCISD Gifted and Talented Program with the "ALPHA Angels".

A Memorial Remembrance service will be performed by Deacon Scott Daniel of St. Paul Catholic Church and will be held in the Chapel at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. in Houston, Texas 77038 on March 13, 2017 at 10 am. In memory of Jackie's love of Hawaii, the family will be wearing Hawaiian attire at the service. Friends attending the service are invited to do the same.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Leslie and Stephanie; three grandchildren, Stephen, Shelby and Shaun; and her husband of 58 years, Malcolm J. Himel, Jr.

Jackie was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, Clear Creek Association of Retired Teachers, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society (Theta Zeta Chapter), and St. Paul Catholic Church in Nassau Bay.
