James Everett Cumming of Friendswood, Texas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital due to unrelated complications after broken leg surgery. He was born November 6, 1926 to J. Everett and Lillian Cumming in Lexington, Massachusetts.

After 30 plus years with Gulf Oil/Chevron, he retired as Director of Fleet Specification & Operation. He served 10 years on Board of Directors of American Petroleum Institution; 7 years on Board of Directors of Metro Transit Authority of Harris County; 6 years on Board of Directors of American Public Transit Association; 18 years on City Council and Mayor of the City of Taylor Lake Village; 10 years on Truck Distribution of Vehicles, Milk & Petroleum Products; and Member of the 32nd Degree Mason in Lexington, MA.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Cumming, sons by previous marriages, James Cumming and wife Rhonda of Houston, TX; Jeffrey Cumming and wife Virginia of Deer Park, TX; Scott Cumming and wife Ann of Cleburne, TX; Mark Cumming and wife Dana of Friendswood, TX; stepdaughter Alicia Riley of Grand Prairie, TX; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister Marilyn Fuller and husband Charles of Cape Cod, MA; and Dolly his loyal & faithful dog.

A private celebration of his life will be held by his family.
