Jean Marie (Korte) Marrs, age 80 passed away peacefully at her home in San Leon, Texas on November 15, 2013. She was born December 26, 1932 in Galena, Illinois.

Mrs. Marrs graduated from the University of St. Mary's in St. Paul, MN, with a degree in Nursing in 1954. She was a dedicated and compassionate nurse at Clear Lake Hospital for 25 years and was always a strong advocate for her patients.

She was long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in League City.

She was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 57 years, Stanley Louis Marrs. She is survived by her 8 adoring children and their spouses. They include Tim and wife Michelle, Catherine (Dee Dee), Elizabeth, Gregory and wife Sharon, Jerry and wife Michelle, Jennifer and husband Kenneth Easley, Susan and husband Rich Zinser, and Theresa and husband Mark Neil. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, Luke, Christina, Matthew, Zachary, Mary Anna, Sara, Christine, Byron, Jonathan, Darren, Angela, Lauren, Jackson, Elliot and great grandchild Molly. She was there for the birth of all 14 of her grandchildren.She also leaves to cherish her memories, her brothers Robert Korte and wife Kathy,Donald Korte and wife Peg and sister Carol Ann Hinde and husband Max.

Jean never met a stranger, she welcomed everyone to her home and treated them like family. She was also the life of every party and a true people magnet. She was a lioness with her children and grandchildren. She was a tiny feisty woman who lived life to the fullest.Words will never describe what a lovingwife and wonderfulmothershe was and how devoted she was to her family and church. She was a remarkable woman that will be sorely missed and we will never forget her. Her life touched many, many people and she will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2013 from 6-8:00pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League city, Texas 77573. A Funeral Mass will follow on Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas 77573 with Father Howard Drabek officiating.
