Jo Ann (Barron) Kilbourn of Houston, Texas passed away on May 26, 2017 at the age of 86, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband Herschel; her parents Max Tillman Barron and Eleanor Louise (Gustafson) Barron; and brothers, Donald and Max Barron.

She was born on May 31, 1930 in Georgetown, Texas. In 1946 after graduating from Georgetown High School and attending Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton, Texas she met her soon-to-be husband Herschel Glen Kilbourn at a First Baptist Church social. He was in the Navy and attending Southwestern University. They married on November 21, 1948. During their almost 68 years of marriage they lived in several towns in Texas and Louisiana, before settling in the Houston area. Jo Ann retired in 1989 after a long career at NASA, spending the majority of her career at Boeing Aerospace Company.

Jo Ann loved her children and loved playing Chinese checkers with her grandchildren. She liked to sit outside, tend to her plants and watch the birds. Her favorite game was solitaire and she played it on her laptop every day. She loved reading books, liked searching the internet for information and enjoyed reading emails from her family. Together Herschel and Jo Ann have 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by sister Alice "Cookie" Barron, spouse Kaye Garms; daughters; Helen Banks; Carolyn Preston, husband Bruce; sons; Robert, wife Shelly; and Donald, wife Sherry. Grandchildren include Jason Thorpe, wife Melissa; Joanna Hughes, husband John; Matthew Horany, wife Angie; David Kilbourn, wife Lyndsey; Michael Kilbourn; Robert Kilbourn, wife Lieutske; Renee Kilbourn; Rebecca Kilbourn; Donny Kilbourn, wife Leslie; Jon Kilbourn, wife Britney; and Katie Kilbourn.

Jo Ann's final resting place is Forest Park Cemetery in League City, Texas.
