John Eric Erickson, 73, passed away in Austin on Thursday, September 7th, 2017. The son of Vera and Eric Erickson, of Highland, Indiana. He is survived by his sister Julie Causley, daughter Karyn Lynn Bergman, son-in-law Robert Aaron Bergman, grandchildren Marshall and Lynnea, and his sweet dog Rocky, who he loved to take to the park.

John was an accomplished astronomer and engineer at NASA and Boeing, contributing to our proud space industry, working on the International Space Station, Shuttle and Apollo programs. A founding member of the JSC Astronomical Society, he hunted eclipses and built telescopes that were enjoyed by many. John was an avid traveler, camper, filmmaker, orchid grower and magic bean buyer. He will be missed by all who knew his fun loving, adventurous spirit.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 14th, at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park TX 78613.

Please make donations to Sierra Club or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in lieu of flowers.
