Linda Sue Shelor Felton passed peacefully early on the morning of October 16th, 2014 surrounded by her family. Linda was the daughter of Billy Shelor and Patricia (Rutledge) Shelor. Linda was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church in Salem, VA where she was active in the Music and Youth Program. She graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in Salem, VA. Linda was married to Robert Felton for 37 years. Together, they traveled the world and raised a family while maintaining a sense of humor and adventure. Linda loved gardening, critters (especially frogs), entertaining her family with her various pranks and shenanigans, and playing with her grandchildren. She was active in Girl Scouts throughout her life. She bravely battled both breast cancer and medullary thyroid cancer and always did her best to help those around her in need. She was very excited to have recently moved closer to family and had found her dream home in the mountains of North Carolina.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, Billy Shelor; her nephew, Ryan Shelor; and her grandparents. Linda is survived by her mother: Patricia Shelor of Salem, VA; husband: Robert Felton; her four children: Laura Flanagan and husband Gary, of Lubbock, TX; Quintin Felton and wife, Jennifer of Rock Hill, SC; Susan Felton of Staunton, VA and Charles Alan Felton of Waco, TX; four grandchildren: Destiny, Christian, Grace and Jordan; brother, Steve Shelor and wife, Cindy of Salem, VA; sister, Debra Barbour and husband, Rodney of Salem, VA; and brother, Alan Shelor and wife, Jean of Roanoke, VA as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and her dog, Ivy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivor's Association, Inc. ( ThyCa Donation, P.O. Box 1102, Olney, MD 20830-1102 or to the Ryan Shelor Fund ( Ryan Shelor Fund, P.O. Box 1145, Salem, VA 24153.
