Myrajane Ereckson Hall, 85, secure in her faith and comforted by the love of those she was leaving behind, passed peacefully from this life on June 14, 2015 in Austin, TX.

Myra was married for 33 years to George Leroy Hall, who preceded her in death by 2 years and 2 days. Myra taught in the Clear Creek Independent School District for 27 years. She and George were members of Clear Lake Presbyterian Church for over 40 years.

Born August 27, 1929 to Henry Jefferson Ereckson and Gertrude deMauri Ereckson, she was raised in Muskogee, OK, where her father owned the women's shoe store. He was killed in a car accident when Myra was 4 years old. Her mother returned to college and earned her teaching certificate. Gertrude taught in the Muskogee, OK schools for over 40 years. Myra's only sibling was Captain Henry Jefferson Ereckson (USN Ret.), a graduate of the Naval Academy at Annapolis, a survivor of Pearl Harbor, a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Myra graduated from Oklahoma State with a Bachelor's in Home Early Childhood Development. She later earned her Masters in the Art of Teaching from Webster University in St. Louis. She spent her life dedicated to children: first her own, and then those of her church and her community.

She was a life long Educator, a devoted wife and mother, a loyal friend to many.

She is celebrated by her daughter, Ann Mackie Hillis (husband Dr. David Hillis), grandsons Ereckson Hillis and Jonathan Hillis; and by her son EJ Mackie, Esq. (wife Dr. Mary Pashley), granddaughter deMauri Mackie (husband Andrew Wilkowski); step-daughters Lisa Lacombe, grandsons Julian Laguna and Zach Laguna; and Letitia Hall, grandchildren Alex Hall-Ruiz and Nick Hall-Ruiz.

A celebration of her life will be held on July 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: George Leroy and Myrajane Ereckson Hall Scholarship Endowment in the School Education and mailed to University of Houston, P.O. Box 867, Houston, TX 77001-0867.
