MYRTA KENNON STAGER, 62, of Pearland, TX, passed away July 25, 2015, after a courageous battle with Myelofibrosis. Myrta was born in Blackwell, OK, to Lewis and Thelma Kennon, on November 9, 1952. She graduated from Blackwell High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston.

Myrta enjoyed a fulfilling career, during which she was employed by the University of Houston as Director of Sponsored Programs, at UTMB Galveston as Director of Research Education. At the time of her retirement from the National Council of University Research Administration, she was Manager of Volunteer and Regional Relations.

Myrta was predeceased by her parents and her brother Elden Kennon. She is survived by her loving husband Charles R. Stager of Pearland, TX. She is also survived by her brother Jim Kennon of Gladstone, OR; sisters Janell Childers of Moore, OK, Janice Rutland of Flora, IL, Joyce Tiemann and Connie Yourdon of Blackwell, OK, as well as brother-in-law, Will Stager of Houston, TX.

Myrta was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pearland, TX. A celebration of Myrta's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, P. O. Box 4486, Houston, TX. 77210-4486.
