Robert (Bob) Francis Pannett passed away at his home on Sunday, March 24, 2013 in Tyler, TX formally of El Lago, TX.

Bob was born to the late Roscoe and Ruthmary Pannett in East St. Louis, IL, May 8, 1931. Bob graduated from Cornell University in 1952 and then again in 1954 with a Master's Degree in Engineering Physics.

After graduation Bob began his more than 43 year career with McDonnell Douglas first in St. Louis and then later in Houston. Bob's career included missile, aircraft and spacecraft system design, development and testing which included the aerospace projects of Mercury, Gemini, Space Shuttle and the International Space Station. Bob retired in 1998 from McDonnell Douglas but remained active in the space industry for another few years as a consultant for GB Tech.

Bob is survived by many loving family members including his wife of 28 years Sandra Pannett of Tyler, TX; his two sons, David and wife Kate Pannett and grandson Thomas of Yonkers, NY; and Robert Pannett of St. Petersburg, FL; his three stepsons, Benjamin Stanford of Dickinson, TX; Micah and wife Toni Stanford and granddaughters Ashley, Sara and Karen of Seabrook, TX; and James and wife Janet Stanford and granddaughters Emily, Madeline and Katie of Tyler, TX. He is also survived by his sister Ruthanna Bryant of Cahokia, IL and his brother Charles and wife Patricia Pannett of Wentzville, MO.

One of Bob's favorite things was music, especially being able to sing in a good choir. He sang in several choirs throughout his life but most recently in the Clear Lake Methodist Church choir. Therefore, in lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Bob's memory to the choir at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Robert Pannett will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 16335 El Camino Real, Houston, TX 77062. There will be time to visit with the family after the service. Burial will be just outside of Alexandria, LA.
