Max Schroeder said goodbye to a life well lived on September 2, 2014. An avid boater who belonged to the Lakewood Yacht Club, many of his happiest days were spent on the water. As a trumpeter in the Army band, even his military service was a celebration of life. The son of Joseph and Mabel Schroeder, Max was born August 13, 1933. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Max joined the Oklahoma State Highway Department and became the youngest department head in the agency's history. He later became President of Ketchum Advertising/Houston and, later, became a published author. Max will be met by his parents and sister, Virginia; and is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kay; sons Jeffrey; Mark and wife, Debbie; brother-in-law, Jake; much-loved nephews and nieces; stepchildren Sheree' Wooldridge and husband Sam; Jeff Coleman and wife Sheree; Kenny Coleman and wife Thelma; along with 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A private celebration of his life will take place on the shores of the waters he loved on September 21, 2014.
