William Tuynman "Bill", age 73, departed the physical world April 12, 2016 at his home in Clear Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Tuynman, his daughters Holly (and husband Jason) Franco, Heather (and husband Nathan) Hennigan, and Heidi Tuynman, grandchildren Ashton Lovell, Ruger and Finley Richman, Isaac and William Franco and Liam Hennigan, sisters Addie (and husband Dale) Mattson and Esther (and husband Richard) Allen, and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents William Hazlitt Tuynman and Ruth (Johnson) Tuynman and siblings Bobbie and Bonnie.

Bill was born March 1, 1943 in Leavenworth, KS, but always called Wisconsin "home." Growing up in the close-knit farming community of Lewis, WI created wonderful memories and he always reflected fondly on those innocent boyhood times of hunting, fishing and working the farm.

He later joined the US Navy and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He attended the University of Minnesota and earned an Electrical Engineering degree, which ultimately brought him to Houston in 1978. He worked for various sub-contractors on-site at NASA until his retirement in 2010.

Bill loved the outdoors. He would rather sleep on the ground under the stars than in a bed. His interests over the years included sky-diving, skiing, canoeing, camping, hunting, hiking, flying, running, and rock climbing.

A memorial service will be held June 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, 3482 115th Street, Frederic, WI 54837.

He will be laid to rest June 18, 2016 at Riverside Cemetery in Grantsburg, WI.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Star of Hope Mission, P.O. Box 1505, Houston, TX 77251-1505 ( www.sofmission.org/donate ) or the .
