Wilma Mae (Hayes) Hill, 83, passed away in Houston, TX. On Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:10 p.m.

Wilma was born in Iowa on June 3, 1933. She was the eighth and youngest child of John Irwin and Marian Mae Hayes. She came into the world on a stack of newspapers in the back of an abandoned U.S. Post office during the Great Depression. Her life that followed was no less filled with her own brand of gumption.

She was a daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, business owner, entrepreneur, quilter, believer of second chances, a confidant, devoted dog owner, Christ follower and a friend to many. Most of all, she was herself.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Davis (Jones, Michigan) Bonnie Arriozola (Houston, Texas) and Tamra Mast (Houston, Texas). She leaves ten grandchildren: Dion, Bronson, Nick, Veronica, Gary, Max, Rachel, Samuel, Anthony and Trevor, as well as fifteen great grandchildren, Dominique, Isaiah, Aleya, Emilia, Olivia, Isaak, Eden, Ezra, Naomi, Noah, Nolan, Nicolette, Nora, Peyton and Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her third daughter Cathie Hunt of Tucson, Arizona and her second husband Fred A. Hill of Benson, Arizona.

Private interment was held at Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, TX, Monday, December 5, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Houston Area Women's Center or the Houston Pug Rescue "Pug Hearts".
