PUTNAM – Mark L. Serio, age 62 of Putnam, died suddenly, Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home.

Mark was born on November 8, 1958 in Berwyn, the son of Anthony and Patricia (Green) Serio. He married Debbie Burch on July 4, 2004 at Lake Thunderbird. Mark was the Lake Manager/COO of Lake Thunderbird since 2016. Mark's passion in working for the community of Lake Thunderbird was felt by all and will truly be missed. He was previously a self-employed contractor in LaGrange Park, IL for many years. Mark was a patient man and a wonderful husband, son, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Serio of Lake Thunderbird; his mother, Patricia Serio of Naperville, IL; his children, Jennifer (Ryan) Heit of Plainfield, IL, Jessica (Michael) Hughes of Homer Glen, IL, Andrea (Max) Taylor of Brookfield, IL, Brett (Channing) Wysopal of Brookfield, IL and Kaitlin Wysopal of LaGrange Park, IL; five grandchildren, Derek, Madison, Emma, Eliza and Rowan; and one brother, Steven (Carmen) Serio of McHenry, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation rites have been completed with the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, IL. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Lake Thunderbird Association Clubhouse, 2 Lake Thunderbird Drive, Putnam, IL 61560. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we ask all who attend to please practice social distancing. Masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the fishing conservation at Lake Thunderbird.
