HAMPDEN - Eleanor Gulisano, 84, wife of the late Salvatore Gulisano, passed away May 7, 2013. She was the daughter of Byron and Lila (Ravin) Scott of Brewer.

Eleanor was graduated from Brewer High School, Husson College and Barry University - BPS, Miami. She was employed in the advertising department of Eastern Corp. in South Brewer and at Eastern's New York sales office. Eleanor met her husband in Khartourn, Sudan, while serving in the state department Foreign Service and they were married in 1969, in Gibraltar.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sal; stepson, Robert; parents; brother, Byron Jr.; half brother, Ralph Scott; and half sister, Natalie Eames. She is survived by two sisters, Rose Wiggins and husband, Bob, of Hampden, and Nelda Conti and husband, Charles, of Chapin, S.C.; sister-in-law, Inge Scott of Brewer; nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. A service of Brookings-Smith.

We will remember Aunt Eleanor as a smart, wonderful and courageous woman. She got Uncle Sal out of the country when he was caught in the middle of a coup d'etat in Africa. We admired her greatly and will miss her.
