Everett Osgood Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 10, 2016.
BANGOR AND BELFAST - Everett Gregory Osgood,87, died April 25, 2016 at a Belfast hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Bangor, the son of Cecil W. and Margaret (Snow) Osgood.

Greg graduated Bangor High School, class of 1946, and graduated Husson College, class of 1950, with a degree in bookkeeping, at which he worked by day for many years. He will be most remembered, however, as a musician, beginning as a young boy and continuing through the end of his days. Skillful with several instruments, he was ready for almost any gig when called, especially if for clarinet or piano. Beginning in 1948, he served in the 195th Army Band for six years. He was part of the Bangor Band for over 30 years; the many other bands, groups and events in which he played during almost 80 years are too numerous to name.

Greg will also be remembered for his kindness, his generosity and his sense of humor. He could also be counted on to provide an alternate route (...or two...or three) and the Bangor area has a few extra lilac bushes and raspberry patches, thanks to Greg.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Priscilla Arbo Clifford, and his wife of 5 years, Susan McNeil Murphy, as well as his stepson, Roger Clifford.

He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Osgood and her husband Edward Barry of Melbourne, FL; his stepdaughter Rebecca Donovan of Brewer; stepson Paul Clifford and his wife Venecia of Prospect; Wanda Clifford of Glenburn; granddaughter Pauline Gaudio; stepgrandchildren, Christine Stevens, Renee Fales, Jeremy Clifford, Alex Clifford, and several stepgreat-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special love of the past six years, Margaret Parker.

As Greg wished, no services were held. Family gathered to witness his burial at Grove Cemetery in Belfast and to later raise a toast to his memory. Condolences to the family may be expressed at memorial-alternatives.com.
