WINTERPORT - Sharon Louise Anderson, 50, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, in the presence of those that she loved. Sharon fought bravely and hard against cancer. She was an inspiration to the many people that were blessed to have her in their life. The daughter of Raymond and Gay Anderson, she grew up in Wells, graduating from Wells High School. A bright scholar and an avid athlete, Sharon graduated from nursing college at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. Kenneth Smith and Trevor Lea-Smith are her sons from her first marriage. A self-taught, master finish carpenter, she helped to instill in her sons a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the beauty and intricacy of the world around them. Sharon's accomplishments are many and include an associate degree in occupational therapy, graduating summa cum laude from Kennebec Valley Community College; an art degree and a master's degree in psychology from the University of Maine, graduating summa cum laude; Master of Education in counselor education with a 4.0 GPA - all done while working as a nurse and having two teenage sons at home. Her last career was pipefitting for Cianbro. Sharon reconnected with her childhood love, Regan Young, and they shared a relationship bound by the strongest love until the end. Sharon is survived by her parents, Raymond and Gay Anderson of Vienna; her brother, Paul Anderson and his wife, Annette, of Falmouth; her sister, Julie Anderson and nieces, Jessica Anderson and Michelle Morris, of Litchfield; sons, Kenneth of Winterport, and Trevor and his wife, Anna, of Sandnes, Norway; and her partner, Regan Young. Family and friends will miss her terribly, and will continue to live as Sharon lived: with strength, compassion, equanimity, hard work, and abundant humor. We will miss you Sharon; you will always live through us and through the lives of your grandchildren, and we love you. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at North Vienna United Methodist Church, Vienna.

Regan, Trevor, Kenneth and Your Families,

Words can't express my sympathies to you all, at this time of great personal loss. Sharon was a true light in the lives of those who knew her, and was an inspiration to those with whom she shared so much.

I regret not staying as close to her over these last two years of her illness, but know that she must have been surrounded by the love and strength of her family and friends until her last breath.

Her fight is now over, and I'm sure that the angels in heaven are happy to have her spirit with them.

May she continue to bless you all with the values she's passed on, and the foundation of love and understanding that she was so passionately aware during her short but meaningful life.

I will always remember her pretty, smiling face, as well as her deep sense of wonder in the world as I pass her tree sculpture in Brewer.

Hers was a life lived to the fullest.

It is my great loss that I did not know Sharon better. We would have a lot to share, judging by family stories and the love that comes with them.
I see that AlvaLee & John Rankin live nearby, in Shapleigh, Maine. Maybe I will get a chance to say hi, sometime.

Love to Ray and Gay and all the family,

Sharon was a amazing lady, sometimes in life you meet the rare person who has that spark within them, that seems to "get it" and that makes all the difference.
She will be missed but not forgot.

Sharon struck us as a fire of intellect and enthusiasm. A wonderful parent and daughter. Families teach by example and hers is the one of the best we know.

Our thoughts go out to her family at this most difficult time.
