Gilbert Gagnon Obituary
Gilbert was very active in his community, being a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Grand Falls Council 2331 and a 4th degree member of Grand Falls Assembly 0621. He was also a member of the Grand Falls Golden Age Club and the Historical Societies of Grand Falls, New Brunswick and Van Buren, Maine. He was also a member of the Genealogy Club and a member of the Grand Falls Public Library as well as a communion minister of the Assumption Parish.
He was predeceased by his biological mother, Jeanne Poitras Gagnon, his parents, Sam and Estelle (Rossignol) Gagnon, one brother, Fernand and two sisters, Lucille Carrier and Cecile Gagnon, son-in-law, Zeb Johnson.
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Noella Beaulieu Gagnon, four daughters, Gaetane Gagnon of Manchester, NH, Linda (Jeff) Helminski of Lakeville, MN, Judy Johnson (late Zeb) of Spokane, WA and Joanne (Bruce) Krol of Spartan, NJ, three granddaughters, Michelle and Rebecca Krol and Coty Helminski, five brothers, George "Guy" (Anna) of Long Island, NY, Leo (Leanne) of Grand Falls, Marcel "Keefe" (Cleo) of Ontario, Vincent "Gros" (Katie) of Montreal and Alve "Ti-Ti" (Verna) of Ontario, four sisters, Jeanne Jarvis (late Herbert) of Bangor, ME, Georgianne "Titite" Prince (late Denis) of Ontario, Parise Nelson (Kenny) of Michigan and Marie-Mai "La Tite" Menard (Ricky) of Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls. Visiting hours will be on Sunday August 9th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday August 10th from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Knights of Columbus will meet for prayers Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Members of the 4th degree with stand guard Sunday from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
His funeral service will be held Monday, August 10th at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Extra-Mural Hospital Program through the Foundation of the Friends of the Grand Falls General Hospital or the Falls Villa Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family. www.oregans.ca

Dear Mrs. Gagnon, My Father Bernard and I wish to send you and your family our deepest sympathy on Mr. Gagnon's passing. It was so wonderful to have been able to talk to you both on his birthday this year. May our Blessed Lord and His Mother comfort all of you as They lead Mr. Gagnon home. Noella and family,
My deepest sympathy at your recent loss. I met Gilbert at the Van Buren Library back in 2001 and we shared much information on the Rossignol family. His mother Estelle was a niece to my great grandfather.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
