I worked at the nursing home as a housekeeper/laundry woman and I LOVED me some Ms. Shirley. I always had a connection with her from the get go. She used to tell me some wild stories from her past, that would just have me giggling. I miss her so, thankfully I had stopped by work the night before she passed and went in and checked on her. I knew then it would be the last time, but I told her she better be right there when I came back to work that Friday. She always was, when I would tell her this, but not this time....................

Jack & Mari, Your Mom was a sweet and funny Lady. We first met some 40 yrs ago when she work downtown at Fernon. I remember when Gary passed away and hearing about her Jack. We met up again years later when one day my neighbor and friend Gordon entroduced me to his fishing buddy and there she was again after all these years. Shirley had two wonderful men in her life and a loving son and daughter-in-law. Thinking of you.

Shirley was an angel on earth and now the Lord's army of angels has grown infinitely stronger now that Shirley has joined them. I will always miss you but i will not be sad because i know you wouldn't want that. I will always remember what a wonderful and giving person she was. I will always know that I was blessed to have had an Aunt like Shirley. I will work to carry on Shirley's legacy of caring for people and for animals.

My sister, Mari, spoke highly of her mother-in-law, Shirley. I met and chatted with Miss Shirley on a number of occasions and she always had something to say as well as a kind word.

Shirley Johns was the kindest person you could ever hope to meet.
All you had to do was hint that you needed something, or had a problem,
You could literally see the expression on her face change instantly
Because as soon as you told her of your problem or your need,
She was already planning and figuring out how she was going to help you with it.
It did not matter who you were, all you had to do was drop a hint and your problem became her mission.
If you needed a dollar and she could get her hands on one, you would get that dollar.
If you had kids you needed help raising, she would gladly raise them for you.
If you needed a ride to or from tim-buck-too, she would gas up her car and get you there.
If a stray dog or cat needed help giving birth to their litter, she was your gal.
And not only did she help birth the animals, she would feed and clothe them too.
Shirley enjoyed life to the fullest and made sure you enjoyed it right along with her even if she had to pay your way.
She loved adventures. And if you knew Gary Wayne, and if you know her one and only son Jack Keith,
Then you know every day of her life was an adventure.
Shirley will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
