Claude Webb, Jr., 90, of Orange, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Avalon Nursing Home in Kirbyville. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Freddy Burden, pastor of First Baptist Church of Baden and Reverend Herb Thompson, pastor of First Baptist Church of West Orange. Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Hartburg, Texas. Serving as Pallbearers will be Ron Hulin, Vincent Lieb, Brett Moses, Donald Ray Webb, Jeramy Webb & Leon Webb, Jr. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Born in Hartburg, Texas on March 8, 1923, Claude was the son of Claude Webb, Sr. & Luanna (Brown) Webb & was the youngest of six children. He was in the U.S. Navy; after being discharged, he was employed by the Orange Naval Station until it shut down. Claude was dedicated wherever he served. He served at Hartburg Baptist Church for many years. Claude was a licensed minister & deacon of First Baptist Church of West Orange. In 1992, he was awarded a plaque for serving 12 years as Sunday School Superintendent & perfect attendance for seven years & nine months. He was over the Van Ministry for many years. He was a music director for many years & church treasurer. He also worked with Boy Scouts. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marie Walters Webb; his sisters, Homie Webb and Elrita Hulin; & brothers, Rufus P. Webb, Leon Webb & Conrad Webb. Claude is survived by his daughter, Linda Cloud McClelland of Kirbyville; son, Claude E. Webb of Deweyville; three grandchildren, Donna Lynn Cloud, Amy Beth Moses & Jeramy Edward Webb; & three great grand children, Layden Webb, Canon & Macy Moses.
