Charles Thomas Jobe, a Korean War Army veteran, entered the gates of Heaven October 20, 2017. He was born, on June 13, 1933, in Atkins, Arkansas, a son of the late Mitch and Margaret Jobe. Charles was a champion high school pole vaulter and was on the boxing team. He loved baseball in his younger years and played in the city leagues. He and his bride moved to California in 1950. He worked as an agricultural mechanic specializing in John Deere Farm equipment. In his later years he was a DJ for a Christian radio station. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 67 years, Alice Jobe of Goode, VA; son, Ron Jobe and wife, Tracey of Fresno, CA; daughter, Cheryl Montecino and husband, Larry of Goode, VA; grandchildren, Wes Segler, Zachary Jobe, Norma Dunn, Anna Montecino, Linda Chavarria, and Larry Montecino III, all of CA. Memorial donations may be made to Norwood Baptist Church, 1045 Random Way, Forest, VA 24551. A Celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Norwood Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Childers officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16.
