Robert Moore Obituary

Robert Moore Robert "Bob" Edward Moore, 76, of Swansea, IL, born February 3, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, died Sunday, August 2, 2020, at his residence. Bob was a certified public accountant and a founding partner of the Moore and Simonin, P.C. accounting firm. He was a longtime member of the Rotary Club and once served as its president. For many years he was active in the Illinois CPA Society and the Southern Illinois chapter. He took his athleticism to another level when he took up golf. He enjoyed his days of playing golf with the men's club at Clinton Hill and later joining St. Clair Country Club. In his later years, he found perhaps his happiest times serving as Poppy to Lydia, Trixie Lu and Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Isabella, nee Fesler, Moore; and a brother-in-law, Charley Pauli. Surviving are his wife of nearly 56 years, Marla Kay, nee Pratt, Moore, whom he married on August 8, 1964; a son, Scott (Michelle) Moore of Edwardsville, IL; a daughter, Lisa (Brent) Kohlenberger of Swansea, IL; six grandchildren, Meghan (Brett) Duncan, Mallory (Andy) Studebaker, Mackenzie (Josh) Hasamear, and Lydia, Trixie Lu, and Henry Kohlenberger; eight great-grandchildren, Audrey and Ella Duncan, Reagan, Maren, Levi, and Joe Studebaker, and Isla and Drew Hasamear; two brothers, Bill (Toni) Moore and Larry Moore; a sister, Margaret Kuhn; nieces; and a nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, or to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com. Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, August 6, 2020, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks, will be in place upon entrance. Funeral: Memorial services will be held at noon Thursday, August 6, 2020, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Larry Patton officiating. As a final act of kindness, Bob gifted his body to science.

Great memories still of Bob, John, my Dad and Jim playing golf and especially the 19th hole conversations.Bob and I mostly listened to the entertainment laughing hard and often.

Bob and Marla and kids were just great to be around. A quality family. Bob is sorely missed. Blessings to you, Marla.

Marla, Scott and Lisa Vicki and I were so saddened to hear about Bob's passing, What memories I have of weekends on the golf course when we would visit. Especially the 19th hole conversations with John, Dad Bob and Jim. All gone now. Bless you all.
