Virginia Miles

Virginia (Ginny) Miles, nee Brimm, born on December 18, 1927, in Anna, IL, passed away on September 10, 2018, in Maryville, IL.

Ginny was a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinsville and attended the South Venice Christian Church in Venice, FL, while living there in the winter. She was a secretary for many years, retiring from the Superintendent's Office at Collinsville Unit 10 after 15 years there. Ginny and Earl truly enjoyed traveling abroad and taking cruises.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Miles, Jr., whom she married on August 10, 1947; her mother and father, Dee and Vica Brimm; sisters, Mary Whitney, Adonis (Tootsie) Watson, Eleanor Ketchie; brother, Charles D. Brimm; brother-in-laws, Leon Whitney, Paul Watson, and Irvin Ketchie; and sister-in-law, Helen Mae Brimm.

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hewitt of Collinsville; her son, Douglas Miles of Highland; her granddaughters, Gretchen (Dan) Hund, Kristen Miles, and Kaitlin Miles all of Highland; and great-grandchildren, Trent, Savannah, and Lucas Hund.

Memorials may be made to the and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Services: Visitation for Ms. Miles will be on Friday, September 14 at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Anna Cemetery in Anna, IL, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
