Born in Bellingham WA January 20th, 1951. He passed away August 7th 2018 at the age of 67. He married in 1982 to Candace J. Griffin. They were married for 36 years. His passing has ended an amazing love story. Pete lived a full life and will be remembered for his love of music, computers and the wonderful car club he belonged to, Gear Heads. He enjoyed classic cars and participating in car shows. Pete drove his car in the Bellingham Parade every year with the car club members. His devotion to his wife Candace, son Chris, two year old Rottweiler Tucker, his car club and his 68 Pontiac Ventura was his life. Pete worked at the Whatcom County Courthouse for 41 years. He was the Election Supervisor and then the Deputy Auditor before he retired in 2013. Pete is survived by his wife Candace, one brother Tom Griffin; and two sisters, Martha Boyer and Koelle Leenstra. He has two grandchildren, Brandon and Seth. Pete served in the U.S. Army for two tours of duty in Vietnam 1970-1973. He will be interned at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA with full military honors, on September 28th, 2018 at 2pm. His memory, thoughtfulness and his generosity touched all that knew him, and he will live through us all forever.
