Mrs. Roxie L.(Giblin) Bentley, of Ferndale WA. was born on July 12, 1924 in Winlock WA. and was raised in Lebanon Ore., passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on June 30,2018 in Bellingham WA. She was a Graduate of the University of Washington with a Masters in nursing. At the time of her retirement she was the head nurse and second in command at the Whatcom County Health Dept. Among her many responsibilities She travel the county as a visiting home nurse and also was the nurse for many of our local schools. Roxie was married for 46 years to Roy Bentley until his passing in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her beloved siblings Margie, Betty, Millie, Phyllis, and Dick. Roxie is survived by her daughter Amanda (Patrick) Timmins, her son Rory (Angie) McKee, grandson Allen (Felicia) Talman and their 3 daughters, cherished brother in law Erwin Bourhoffer, numerous nephews and nieces. Roxie had a passion for hiking well into her 80s and a love of adventure. She and Roy traveled the world over with her siblings as their companions. She was a Red Cross volunteer, which took her to many disaster zones providing care as she did best. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Whatcom Hospice. Our deepest gratitude to all at Springcreek who cared for her. Also to Hospice for your care and compassion. We hope to have a celebration of life For Roxie and Roy at a time to be determined.
