Rhett Lewis Wheeler, 64, of Bryant, passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017. He was born Dec. 19, 1952, in Pheonix, to Ted Wheeler and Shirley Rafter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lyn Wheeler; and a sister, Tammy Cottrell.
Rhett graduated from Benton High School in 1971. He served in the U.S. military in 1972 and 1973. In his early years, Rhett worked at the Alcoa plant, but spent the majority of his career in the healthcare industry. With his caring heart, he was the best in the business. He truly loved taking care of his clients and always went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable.
He was a loving daddy, granddaddy, son, brother, uncle and friend. Rhett was deeply devoted to his parents and siblings, and his biggest sense of accomplishment was his daughter, Caroline, and his grandson, Christian, his pride and joy. He exuded love and brightened the world of not only his family and friends, but even strangers with his bigger than life personality. Rhett was a member of the Benton Seventh-Day Adventist Church and served his church faithfully while his health allowed.
He is survived by a daughter, Caroline Fowler (Jim), of Bryant; a brother, Kirk Wheeler (Willa), of Little Rock; three sisters, Vicki Smith (Steve), of Hot Springs, Rhonda Phillips, of Benton, and Kelly Goodrich, of Bryant; a grandchild, Christian Gallucci, of Bryant; and a number of nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at Benton Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Michael Wolford officiating.
