I remember Mrs. Berry since Dr. Berry was my obstetrician. She was, as described, elegant and straight-forward. She had a calmness and competence about her. Dr. Berry and his wife made quite an impression on me, since I was a young mother and felt safe in their hands. May God Bless her and her family.

Aunt Madeline was my father's only sibling, Whom I did not know well as we didn't live near each other which I always regreted. We exchanged Christmas Cards each year and talked on the phone on occasion. Aunt Madeline gathered up all my grade school pictures that my mother had sent to my Grandmother Sarah and mailed them to me. A very, very kind Aunt.

Maryellen, Madeline, John and Paul: So very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Oh the many, many memories I have of being at your house, trying to convince Mrs. Berry that none of us were responsible for whatever shenanigans happened to be going on! Forever cherish the sweet memories of your Mom. She was a wonderful woman. George and I send our deepest sympathies. Love to all - "Missy" Pierce McGuire

An exceptional woman she was, her strength, unparalleled. The epitome of class, everything she ever did was done with elegant sophistication. I never heard her swear, even at the most trying of times, never heard her complain, gossip or speak ill of anyone.

She was smart, her brain was magnificent, able to recall every single detail of her long, full life with perfection, even down to the names of her classmates back in nursing school and the color of the dresses they wore at different times. She loved to tell her stories, I remember listening, captivated for hours, never bored and leaving with a feeling that I actually knew all the characters from her past.

For well over thirty years she has kept up with the events of my life, from afar. She followed every detail of my children's lives, from births to college graduations, always sending cards and newspaper clippings of my children's accomplishments.

A remarkable, selfless, devoted wife and mother, never, ever complained about her kids, something most of us do on a daily basis. Most times she called her husband Doctor, sometimes Paul. Mrs. Berry mastered the art of being formal yet personal. A relentless supporter of her family, truly selfless, always putting herself last, never asking for anything from anyone.

I'm proud to say that I was close to her for many decades and knowing her has made me a better person. A true role model, especially in our times where decorum, class and manners are long forgotten. We all could take a page from Mrs. Berry's book.

Always positive, always loving, always elegant, always beautiful, always classy.
