I was partner of Donia Carey, a singer and musician who both worked with Elaine, and was at school with her in their younger days. I remember a very sweet time at a musical gathering in Wellfleet, with many mutual friends performing together, and much excitement, around 2006. Elaine knew how to entertain, in the most wondrous way! My impression of Elaine was of the type whose feelings of competence and confidence is natural and obvious for all, and one felt it around her immediately. Adding some ziz here: I was accepted, bemusedly, of having been Donia's piano student at age six, forty five years earlier. But so it goes with musicians. Sweetness to all in Elaine's life, from me, and also speaking for Donia's gentle spirit.

I am so saddened to read of Elaine's passing. I met her first at my cottage in Wellfleet, although I live in the Berkshires as well. She often walked by as our dogs greeted each other. Often we ran into each other while shopping in Orleans. I enjoyed our brief times together. Please accept my warmest condolences.
