Evangeline J. Prince

1933 - 2021

Evangeline (Vangie) Corriveau Prince, longtime resident of Hancock Mass, passed away peacefully March 27th at Teresian House in Albany,NY with family by her side. She was born May 13, 1933 in Caribou Maine to the late Paul O. and Marie (Marcoux) Corriveau.

Raised in Boston and Pittsfield, MA, Vangie was a member of the Hancock Historical Commission as well as the first town secretary. She was instrumental in moving and restoring the Hancock Town Hall. Last employed by North Adams Regional Hospital, she had previously worked at Jiminy Peak and the Little Red Schoolhouse. She also wrote a column, "The Other Side of the Mountain", for the Berkshire Eagle for many years.

Vangie leaves behind her children; Joanne Chretien (William Dougherty), Justine Babcock, Joyce Dubuc (Mark), John P Prince, Jr. (Danielle Huck) and their half siblings; Virginia, Patrick, Peter and Joseph, six grandchildren; Danielle Chretien, Bethany Prince Malloy (Robert), Emily Delmonaco (Steven), Philip Dubuc (Micaela Inama), Richard Babcock (Maria), Katelynn Allen and 2 great grandchildren; Joseph Nickolai, as well as her brother Paul Corriveau and her sister Pauline Levesque, and many adored nieces and nephews along with numerous neighbor children who she considered her own - she loved you all. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Jacqueline Prince, son-in-law Ronald Babcock, her brother-in-law Bernard Levesque, and sister-in-law Kay Corriveau.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Teresian House 5th floor for their unwavering care and devotion to not only our mother but to all their residents.
