1928 - 2016 Our beloved mother Beverly R. Vincent Adams, age 88 of Partridge Road, Pittsfield, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 4, 1928 in Pittsfield, the daughter of the late Chandler M. and Rachel L. Wilson Vincent, Sr. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and graduated from PIttsfield High School. Beverly was one of the first woman realtors in Berkshire County opening and operating her own business, Beverly Adams Realty in 1966 and was instrumental in forging the way for woman in the local real estate industry. She was the first woman to hold the office of President of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors in 1978 previously serving as Director. She was names Realtor of the Year by the county board in 1979. She was State Director of the Massachusetts Women's Council of Realtors, and was Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee and Chairman for the state associations Make America Better program. In June, 1994 she joined Century 21 A. Perras Realty until her retirement in 2003. She was highly respected in her field and known for her ethics among her colleagues and clients. She married Frederick R. Adams, Jr. in Elkton, Maryland on August 16, 1946; he passed on August 2, 2014. Together they raised five children, two sons; Frederick R. Adams, III and his wife, Debi of St. Petersburg, FL, and John V. Adams and his wife, Deana of Pittsfield; two daughters; Gail C. Broyles of Pittsfield, and Christine A. DiCicco and her husband, Larry of Zaphyrhills, FL; a sister, Marjorie Wheeler of Ludlow, MA; a brother, Gary Vincent of Saco, ME; as well as nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Frederick R. Adams, Jr. and her daughter, Jennifer R. Adams. Also her sister Jean Ouilette and her two brothers, Chandler and Jack Vincent. Beverly enjoyed her family, traveling with her husband and had a love of birds and nature. She had a true appreciation and zest for life. She touched all that knew her. The famimly would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone at Berkshire Medical Center and Mt. Carmel Care Center for their dedicated care and also to Hospice Care of the Berkshires for making Bev's last weeks dignified and comfortable. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. A short memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Buchauer of Morningside Baptist Church officiating and a graveside sesrvice will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the famiily requests memorial donations be made in Bev's name to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, in care of the Funeral Home.
