Daniel O'Brien Obituary
Daniel lived an action paced lifestyle and loved skiing, motorcycling and skateboarding (on his hands)! He moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1990 and founded and ran two successful businesses, O'Brien's Auto and O'Brien's Auto West. He was a collector of antique autos and motorcycles, loved music, playing the harmonica, and following his son Christopher's music career.
Danny will be missed by his two children, Christopher O'Brien of Boston, MA and Lexie O'Brien of Des Moines, Iowa, his ex-wife Katherine "Kat" O'Brien who cared for him when his health declined, and his beloved dog Bella. In addition, he leaves three sisters, Maureen Henault (Ray) of Bluffton SC, Kathleen Basile (Richard) of Richmond MA, and Eileen Fevre (Terry) of Durham ME. Also two brothers Thomas O'Brien (Kathy) of Granby MA and Martin O'Brien of Greenfield MA. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Kristine Ward and brother Neil E. O'Brien. Danny leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews in The Berkshires and beyond and one surviving aunt, Mary C. Valenti.
Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines is handling the arrangements. There will be a memorial service in the Berkshires at a later date.

My Condolences.
Danny and I were close friends. I was his housekeeper. I took care of his sweet dog too.
He was a very kind hearted caring person. I just found out about his passing.
He will be missed.. God knows there was love & care in my heart for him.

So sorry to hear about Danny. The O'Briens were our neighbors on Harding St when we were kids. I have many fond memories of Neil, Danny, and all the O'Briens from that time. My sincere sympathies to you all.
