HERSEY -- Michael A. Hite, 65, of Hersey, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1953, in Reed City, to Joseph and Virginia (Pollaski) Cornelius. Mike graduated from Reed City High School in 1973. He was employed by Federal Screw Works in Big Rapids for 40 years, retiring just over a month ago.
Mike will be remembered as a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked to work, loved his birds and gardening.
He is survived by his mother, Jenny Ecker, of Hersey; his adoptive father, Guy "Larry" Hite, of Big Rapids; three sisters, Sue (Duane) Brainerd, of LeRoy, Janet Schaub, of Newaygo, and Terri Hite, of Lakeview; a brother, Norm (Tricia) Hottmann, of Luther; many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his birth father, Joseph Cornelius, and a sister-in-law, Diane Wood.
