Elizabeth "Betty" Long, age 78 of Stanwood, formerly of Barryton, peacefully passed away at her home on Thursday, April 8, 2021. At her side was her caregiver and partner of over 11 years, Shirley Moore.
Betty was born on January 24, 1943 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Wallus) Long. She was a 1962 graduate of Comstock High School in Kalamazoo. She worked at Upjohn's in Portage, Michigan and then went on to own and operate Nature's Treasure, a flower shop in Evart for over 10 years. Betty enjoyed her pets and watching sports especially the Dallas Cowboys.
Betty is survived by two brothers, John and Dan Long both of Kalamazoo; one sister, Kathy (Denise Crouch) of Lansing; several nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Lutz.
Following the government guidelines (social distancing, wearing a mask, with 25 people allowed in at a time) visitation will take place from 12:30 pm until 1:00 pm on Monday, April 12, 2021 with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 pm with Fr. Tom Boufford officiating at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
