Jerry Taylor Obituary

Jerry Franklin Taylor, wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather (Bumpy) passed from this worldly life into eternal salvation on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born on Feb. 17, 1931, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Lucille and Jefferson Taylor. He was raised in Helena, where he met the love of his life, Lorena "Lore" Ramsey. They were married on Feb. 27, 1950. To this union, ten children were born. Jerry spent 25 years working for KOA Kamp-grounds as Vice President of Franchise Services and retired in 1993. He was very active in church and school organizations and was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Jerry was especially fond of trips to the "Hills" on Sundays, camping and hiking trips and traveling with Lore in their motor home. He also loved the game of golf.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lore Ramsey Taylor; sister, Jacquie Barbani; ten children and spouses, Laure Taylor (Steve Judd), Karen Taylor (Nancy Campbell), Sue Kutzler (Daryl), Janet Magnuson (Jerry), Mary Schmidt (Harvey), Jerry Taylor (Sandi Thayer), Richard Taylor (Lori Long), Michael Taylor (Carrie), Patrick Taylor (Peggy) and Sandy Taylor. He leaves as his legacy thirteen grandchildren, Keith McBride (Denise), Sarah Taylor, Lindsey Miller (Matt), Tony Kutzler (Cassie), Dianna Weaver, Loreena McShane, Kelsey Harris (Mike), Michelle Garton (Lance), Eric Magnuson (Yong Ae), Cody Schmidt, BJ Schmidt (Kylie), Jesse Taylor (Rochelle), Ellen Taylor, Ian Davey (Laci) and Lauren Huck. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, cousins and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jefferson and Lucille Taylor; second mother, Evelyn Taylor; brother, Gaylord Taylor; sister, Paula Higgins; daughters-in-law, Rhonda Taylor and Charlene Taylor; and grandson, Richie Kutzler.

A special thanks to the awesome Palliative Care Team headed by Dr. Thomas James, Dr. Sarah Stewart and RiverStone Hospice.

A vigil celebration of Jerry's life will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, with a memorial service following on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Pius X Church, St. Vincent de Paul, Angela's Piazza or the charity of choice. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com.
