Lawrence Serio, Jr. age 69 of Hoover, AL went home to the Lord after a long battle with cancer. Lawrence is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Jane, his parents, Lawrence & Sara Lee Serio and his sister, Sara Marie Perkins. He is survived by daughter Ashley (Trey) Ferguson, son Michael (Brandy) and grandsons, Nathan, Vinny & Damien, siblings Johnny (Thais), Anthony (Tara), Trisha Perkins, Donna (Charles) Abel, Theresa Russell, Jimmy (Carla), Benny, Joe (Kristi), Sammy (Bobbett) and numerous nieces and nephews. Lawrence was most loving and devoted to his children, grandchildren, family, friends & especially his church. He was a devoted Catholic who prayed the rosaries daily. Together with his brother Anthony, they established Anthony's Car Care Centers in the late 1960's, building Anthony's Car Washes Service & Detail Center and Anthony's Paint & Body into the Birmingham staple they are today. Lawrence made his life doing what he loved, with those he loved, and his impact was tremendous. The family would like to express gratitude to all the amazing family and friends for all the prayers and support during this time. A memorial service to honor Lawrence will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3:30-5:00 with funeral mass to follow. I’m sorry to hear of Lawrence’s passing. I worked at Anthony’s in Vestavia and got to know the family. I wish the family best wishes.

I got to know Lawrence during our time at the Hoover ball park. I always enjoyed our conversations there as well as at Anthony's. He will be missed , but we know he is in a better place. May his memory be eternal!

Sadden by the passing of Lawrence. A good man, knew him through my association with Royal Automotive in the mid 70s. A happy person, always glad to see me. My condolences to Anthony and all the family...

My sweet cousin, I will miss him. He was and will always be Junior to me. He was a wonderful family man, loving husband, father and granddad. He has left an emptiness but he will live on in wonderful memories of everyone he knew. God bless your dear family. Bobbie Sims
