Phyllis Anne (Pettit) Becker Obituary
Phyllis Anne Pettit Becker, 80, of Hendersonville, NC passed peacefully away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Autumn Care in Saluda.
She was born in Henderson County, lived all over the country with her father who was traveling for the VA hospital system as a painter, and moved back permanently with her family here in Hendersonville in 1978. She was the daughter of the late Hayden and Edna Mills Pettet and was preceded in death by her husband William James Becker (retired Sergeant with the D.C. Police Department).
Her lifelong career that she had a deep passion for started with working for the FBI in D.C., where she met her future husband. Later transitioning to working in various law firms, in D.C. and Henderson county. She had a deep understanding and respect for the law. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, friends, and crafting.
She is survived by her three sons, William Dennis Becker and his wife Mary Ann of Raleigh, Michael Wayne Becker and his wife Marilyn Jean of Ohio and Kevin James Becker of Asheville; three grandchildren, William Alexander Becker and his wife Kat and their children, Macie and Alexander Michael her great grandchildren of Hendersonville, Amy Katherine Becker of Hendersonville and Adam Michael Becker of Ft. Bragg, NC; two sisters, Dolores Cater Baker and her husband Walt of Virginia and Ruth King and her husband Ed of Virginia.
Special thanks to Linda Walker, and Dawn Greene for being such lifelong devoted friends right to the end.
There will be a private service held at Jackson's Funeral Home Thursday.
