Richard T. "Timmy" Hosack Obituary
Richard T. "Timmy" Hosack, 64, of Hendersonville passed away on September 4th, 2018 at Brian Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Miami, Florida on May 3rd, 1954 to the late Edgar and Florence (Fulcomer) Hosack Sr. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his oldest brother Edgar Jr., and a nephew Rick.
Richard moved to Hendersonville in 1978, where he was employed for many years as a cook. He was the youngest of six children, and deeply enjoyed following each of his older siblings' various sporting events through the years. His love for sports and family never faded, leading him to be an avid fan for all his nieces and nephews in football, wrestling, soccer, and even ice hockey up north. He will also be remembered in the Hendersonville community for being a familiar face at local sporting events, primarily those at West Henderson High and the Asheville Tourists.
He is survived by his older siblings Bob Hosack and wife, Pat of St. Petersburg, FL, Betty Ann Dunlop and husband, Walter of Snellville, GA, John Hosack and wife, Mary of St. Petersburg, FL, Jim Hosack and wife, Anne of Glastonbury, CT, sister-in-law Anita Vargas Hosack (wife of Edgar Jr.) of Etowah, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 in the Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel officiated by Father Praveen Kumar Turaka. Burial will follow in the park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at Thos. Shepherd & Son.
